This Thursday 3rd February we are kick starting our Grand Opening Celebration at Canary Wharf and Saturday 5th February at St Christopher's Pl! Join our MARUGAME MATSURI (Matsuri 祭り= Festival in Japanese) for a full day of performances celebrating Japanese art and culture!
Taiko Drumming
12noon - 2pm
太鼓, a fascinating form of music that ensemble rhythmic drumming and choreographed moves, which has been a part of the Japanese culture for centuries.

Japanese Folk Dance
3-5pm
Japanese Folk Dance 舞踊 evolved out of the daily lives of people in their local communities. Traditionally, props used by dancers were handed down from generation to generation, the purpose of the dance was to revere a god, celebrate a good harvest or exorcise evil spirits. You get to see the graceful movements of the performers, as well as admire the beauty of their garments.

Shamisen Performance
6-8pm
三味線 , Shamisen Performance by Hibiki, along with Luke Burns & Joshua Green from DENSHONEN. Traditional Japanese music performance, ensemble of folk signing and Shaminsen, a 3-string musical instrument.
