Marugame is on the hunt for Britain's best slurper. We want to find the loudest, longest and most interesting slurp in all of Britain. Send us your video and our udon master Ko san, will pick the winner for a once in a lifetime trip to Japan.

In Britain, we think of slurping as rude and impolite. However, in Japan it is actually a way to show respect to the chef and to show you are enjoying the meal. Slurping will also accentuate the dish allowing you to taste each individual ingredient.

Udon making & Slurp Off masterclass
We're hosting 2 slurping masterclasses on 3rd & 10th August for budding slurpers who wish to enhance their techniques under our udon master, Ko-san's guidance.
In the masterclass, you will get to learn how to make Sanuki style udon, tour around our udon kitchen to learn how our udon being made daily and of course practice udon slurping the right way. Finally, feast on some udon and take home a master-class only goodie bag to make your own Kake at home. *All proceeds from ticket sales go to ONLY A PAVEMENT AWAY
