Nicole Chui is a London-based embroidery artist whose bold, expressive work explores identity through craft, movement and emotion. Inspired by football, dance and her Asian heritage, she creates one-of-a-kind embroidered pieces that tell stories beneath the surface.
Alongside her artistic practice, Nicole is the founder of Baes FC, a grassroots football community for women, trans and non-binary people of Asian heritage. For this collaboration, Nicole has reimagined Japan's iconic 1998 football shirt, drawing inspiration from Japanese craftsmanship, Marugame's heritage and the artistry behind handcrafted udon.
